Pro/Engineer July 2003 Tip-of-the-Month
Changing Pro/E's Model Window Text Size
Is there a way to change the size of the dimension text in part or assembly mode? That's a good question asked by Nathan Cole of Valmont Industries, and the answer he found is worth sharing. The answer is Yes. You can change the Pro/Engineer modeling window text size with the following config.pro option: TEXT_HEIGHT_FACTOR 40 Where the number (40) is the size of the text. The size / number relationship is inverse (similar to sheetmetal or wire gage) so the text size gets smaller as the number gets larger. 50 is the default size, so 40 yields larger text, and 80 makes the text smaller. In the examples shown along the side of this page, the model is at default zoom for all of them. Only the text size (and relative position of the model) has changed. Notice that all the graphics screen text has changed: dimensions, axis labels, datum labels, etc.. So, if you have trouble seeing the text, try 40 to make the text a little larger. If you find that dimensions are often stacked on top of each other and you would like the numbers a little smaller, use 60 or 80. If you want to use this, here are a few things to Note:
